Four times Campbell was All Southwest running back. His college career in rushing is 4444 yards...and in his 4th year captured both the Heisman Trophy and consensus All-American. Earl's top game was in 1977, gaining 222 yards rushing against Texas A&M. Earl was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1978. As a rookie he rushed for over 1000 yards his first season, breaking the single season rushing record. Campbell set the Oilers team record for most touchdowns in a single season, and tied the single game record. Earl is now retired from the NFL, as Assistant Athletic Director of Texas. Earl is president of Earl Campbell Foods, Inc. called the fastest growing food company in America. Elected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame in 1990.
