In three seasons with Stanford, his total offensive records included most pass attempts, 962, most pass completions 530; most net yards passing, 7544; most touchdown passes, 52; most plays 1174; and most yards 7887. After Rose Bowl heroics (leading Stanford over Ohio State in 1971, 27-17), Plunket was #1 draft by New England, where he passed for 2158 yards and won Rookie of the Year. He went to the 49ers in 1976 and to Oakland in 1980. He quarterbacked the Raiders in 1980 & 1983 SuperBowl wins, being named MVP in 1980. He retired as a Coors Distributor in Stocton CA. He received the Leukemia Society of America's Ernie Davis Award. Jim is an avid Tennis player. Elected to NFF&C Hall of Fame in 1990.
