THE HEISMAN MEMORIAL TROPHY

1966 Steve Spurrier Florida Qrtrback At 6'2" and 203 lbs, Steve completed 392 of 692 passes for 4848 yards, including 37 touchdowns and 442 yards rushing. In the NFL as a 49er, he spelled John Brodie. His best game was in 1973 against Minnesota completing 31 of 48 for 320 yards. In 1972 he tied the 49er record of 5 TDs passed in a game. He retired to become a college Head Coach; at Duke, winning the ACC Championship; at Florida, for the SEC Championship in 1990-1996. His 7-year record at Florida is 73-14-1. He is been married to Jerri Starr for 30 years, with four children, Lisa, Amy, SteveJr. and Scotty. Elected to the NFF&C Hall of Fame in 1986.
