Lattner scored 20 touchdowns and 120 points for the Irish. He gained 1726 yards and caught 39 passes for 479 yards, having a total of 3095 yards. Notre Dame lost only 3 times in 3 years. Johnny went to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then served two years in the Air Force ('55-'57). He then coached at St. Joseph High School and Denver University. In 1962 he opened a Lattner's Steak House in Chicago, where he proudly displayed his Trophy. He is currently Vice-President of Sales for PAL Graphics. He has been active in fundraising, serving on Physical Fitness Committe for Illinois. Elected to the NFF&C Hall of Fame in 1979.
