Bio: Born Oct. 31, 1949, at Arlington, state of Washington, Nancy lived in Hood River from 1950 on, attending HR county schools K through 12, graduating Wy'east in 1967. After graduation Nancy studied math, chemistry and Latin at U of Oregon (Eugene); computer programming at Northwestern College of Business (Portland), and Portland State U. She moved to New York City in 1969 to work at Brooklyn Public Library. Upon returning to Portland, she worked for Oregon Dept. of Human Resources and The Oregonian. (After her divorce in 1975 she resumed her maiden name Kesti.) Living in Hood River 1979 to present, she retired after 17 years with the Hood River News to the Kesti family homestead on Markham Road, Rockford, HR. Nancy likes keeping up with national and world events, using her PC, and working in and enjoying the outdoors. Nancy tragically lost her sister Karen in 1982; and her sister Lisa in 1986. Her father, Bill Kesti, died in 1995 and her mother, Eileen, in 2001. Four sisters still living are Kathleen Dibble of Salt Lake City; Mary Mitch of Tigard, OR; Esther Smith and Carla Kesti, both of Hood River.
